Why 'On the Shelf'?
I gave this name to my blog before deciding on what my projects were going to be. So the name of this blog has nothing to do with the content of my project.
But still, why 'On the Shelf?'.
Imagine you're sitting at a desk/table. It might be messy or tidy, but you'll be aware of what's there, especially if that's primarily where you work. This represents the Final Major Project - the main source of your attention.
Above the desk there is a shelf. As you're working at your desk/table you might look up and think about what's up there. This shelf represents another source of attention - the Research Project, which changes your thought path, depending on what you're looking (on the shelf).
This was my thinking while naming my blogs.
